How to calculate interval time or recording time for timelapse

Actually this is simple math.
Firstly, we can define the parameters;

    • Interval is “a pause or break in activity”. This options depends on your camera capability of shooting photograph. For example you can set Canon G7 Mark2 camera to shoot minimum every 1 second.
  • fps is “frame per second”, defines how many frames will be showed in a second.

Here is the equations;

  • interval is total recording time*60 / number of photos
  • number of photos = clip lenght * fps
  • total recording time is clip lenght * fps * interval / 60

I created a small application for that, you can download from below link:

TimeLapse Calc v01

Soon, i will prepare a how to make timelapse with a DSLR and compact cameras.

Important note: Application is created by me(tested on windows 10) and it’s totally harmless but anyway downloading and using is in your responsibility.
